The Management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has assured the public that the fire that engulfed its head office Wednesday October 26, did not affect the documents and records store.
It was wildly reported that the examination body head office in Lagos was engulfed with fire.
According to reports on the issue, the fire was put out by a combined team of firefighters, stressing that no life was lost in the inferno and all important records remain intact.
A statement by Head, Public Affairs Department, Moyosola Adesina, reads: “WAEC wishes to inform the general that there was an early morning fire incident at the WAEC Office, Yaba, Lagos.
“It was swiftly contained by a combined team of fire fighters.
“Thankfully, no life was lost and all important documents and records are intact.”
