Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Titus Uba has, on behalf of his family and the entire members of the 9th Assembly, felicitated with the Christian community in Nigeria, particularly in Benue State, on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Wuese Orshi, Uba said, Easter is a season of rebirth in which humanity needs to repent from her sinful ways and entirely turn to God.
He called on those who are bent on causing chaos and perpetrating violence particularly in our local communities to use this season of penitence and feel remorseful about their violent activities.
“The number one lawmaker points out that in the still of this mayhem, some children are made orphans, some women are made widows and those who were hitherto living in beautiful homes are displaced, however, Easter spells out the rare beauty of new life, a proof that we can begin again and called on those who have been exposed to different kinds of difficulties as a result of the general unrest in some parts of the state to know that the government of Benue State has never forgotten about them and is doing everything possible to guarantee peace in the affected areas,” the statement said.
The speaker prays that God give Benue people the hope of a new beginning, love, peace and joy during this Easter season and always.
