Wife of Benue State Governor, Dr Eunice Ortom has charged Christians to use the gifts received from God to advance the spread of the gospel and for human development.
Dr Ortom, who gave the charge Sunday, while speaking at the dedication of the new Church Auditorium of NKST Church, Sende, Tse Kpum in Vandeikya Local Government also called on Christians to show commitment to the work of God.
The state’s First Lady, who also represented her husband on the occasion, stated that God has blessed and gifted people in various ways and so it is pertinent to use those blessings, be it material, financial, or human resources for the spread of the gospel and development of society.
In his remark, the CEO of Zealand Nigeria Limited and donor of the church building, Mr Samuel Akough said it was his own way of returning in thanksgiving to God for all done for him and his family. He appreciated the Benue state’s first family for the opportunities given to him, adding that the impact of the first family had been felt by his family, community and LGA.
Earlier, in his sermon, Rev Doose Tsekeh, who read from Matthew 8: 1-10 stressed that one of the primary ways of serving God was contributing to the spread of the gospel and offering selfless services to humanity, urging Christians to make conscious efforts towards building the church of God, irrespective of their standing in the society.
