A female lawmaker representing Nasarawa Central at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hajara Danyaro has distributed N5,000 cash each as palliatives to 100 religious leaders of her constituency in order to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal in the country.

Danyaro, who is the only female lawmaker and Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs while distributing the palliatives on Saturday in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state, promised to continue to attend to the needs of the people of her constituency.

She noted the roles of religious leaders in promoting peace and unity in the society calling on them to continue to pray for the unity, peace, progress and development of the country and for leaders to succeed.

Danyaro said ” This cash ( palliative) is to improve on your standard of living and that of your family members as a result of fuel subsidy removal in the country.

” This is the second batch of my palliatives to the people of my constituency among other gestures. In the first batch, I distributed palliatives to over 400 people of my constituency.

” During the primary and general elections, the religious leaders prayed for my success and today, I have succeeded through their prayers and other people’s support.

” I will continue to do my best and to ensure that I will bring speedy development to Nasarawa Central constituency.

” This is to change on your lives positively and for the overall development of our constituency.”

The lawmaker assured the people of her commitment to protect the poor, saying that the committee had been set up by the House to investigate alleged diversion of palliatives.

Danyaro also promised to attract more constituency projects such as boreholes, schools among other to the constituency.

She, therefore appealed to religious leaders and the public to pray and support President Bola Tinubu, Gov Abdullahi Sule, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi and Mallam Aliyu Abdullahi, the Chief Imam of Nasarawa Central Mosque, herself among other leaders to enable them succeed.

Also Speakings, Hon Saidu Gude ( SDP-Uke/ Karshi) and Hon Ovey John ( PDP- Keffi East) lauded Danyaro for the gesture, adding that the initiative would change on the lives of the beneficiaries positively.

On their parts, Sen. Abubakaar Sodangi, the Chairman of the event, represented by his Special Assistant, Mr Sale Ahmed, Dr Zainab Ahmed, former SSG in the State , Hon Dikko Mohammed, former Chairman, Keffi LGA, among others commended Hon Danyaro for distributing cash to the religious leaders and prayed God to bless her abundantly.

They called on the religious leaders to continue to preach peace and unity to the people of the constituency and the society at large.

Responding, Rev. Ishola Peter, CAN Chairman, Christians Association of Nigeria ( CAN) in Nasarawa LGA and Mr Sulayman Aliyu , an Islamic scholar appreciated the female lawmaker for the gesture and prayed God to bless her abundantly.

They assured her of their prayers and support to enable her succeed at all times.

The Voice reports that the event featured special prayers for President Tinubu, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and Mallam Aliyu Abdullahi, the Chief Imam of Nasarawa Central Mosque to enable them succeed.

In another development, Hon. Danyaro has commissioned the modern solar power street lights she installed at Nasarawa Motor park in Nasarawa LGA.

Danyaro urged members of the NURTW, NATO, Mechanics among others to jealously guard the solar power street lights in their interest and for the overall development of the constituency.

Responding, Suleiman Idris, Patron Mechanic Association, Salihu Isah, Chairman NURTW Branch 3, Muhammadu Musa , Chairman, Nasarawa LGA Mass Transit and Haruna Aliyu , all appreciated her for the gesture.

They promised to safeguard the over 10 solar power street lights installed in the area as the first phase of the project by the female lawmaker.
