The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar (IV), will be visiting Idomaland after the period of COVID-19 pandemic.
This is sequel to a request by the members of All Muslim Community Leadership Forum, Otukpo, Benue State, who paid him a courtesy visit at his Abuja residence recently.
Receiving the delegation, Sultan Abubakar, charged them to continue to live in peace with people of other faiths as they advance the cause of Islam in their domain.
In their request for the Sultan’s visit to Idomaland after the period of COVID-19 Pandemic, members of the All Muslim Community Leadership Forum, Otukpo said such visit would go a long way in promoting the cause of Islam in the area.
The Forum’s speech jointly signed by the forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Umar Ajape and Secretary, Alhaji Garba Grema, the group expressed gratitude to the leader for the honour done them in receiving them even within a short notice stressing that, their visit accorded them the opportunity to intimate the Sultan about Islamic activities in Idomaland and to present their new Supreme Leader, Amir Musulmi of Idomaland, Prof Shamsudeen Amali to him.
They pledged their loyalty to the Sultan with the promise that they would continue to promote the cause of Islam and peaceful co-existence in Benue South as advocated by the Muslim ruler, adding that, their new Supreme Leader, Prof Sahamsudeen Amali, would work in tandem with the vision of the Sultan for the progress of Islam.
On his own part, the leader of the delegation and Amir Musulmi of Idomaland, Prof Shamsudeen Amali, appreciated the Sultan of Sokoto for the reception accorded them and for his wise counsel, assuring him of their unalloyed loyalty to his leadership and that of Islam.
The high point of the visit was the presentation of a portrait of the Sultan to him by the Otukpo All Muslim Community Leadership Forum.
