Support schools with teaching aids – Prof Sule

The Executive Chairman, Universal Basic Education (UBE)  Plateau State, Prof. Matthew Sule, has appealed to groups and spirited individuals to come to the aid of schools in need of teaching aids.

Prof. Sule made the appeal recently in Jos, after he witnessed the presentation of classroom desks, donated by Rotary Club of Jos Central to two primary schools in Jos, St Theresa RCM Primary School and Kabong RCM Primary School.

Prof. Sule who revealed that public primary schools in rural areas are suffering untold hardship, due to lack of teaching aids thanked Rotary club of Jos Central, for the gesture. He said the desks presented to the schools shall enable conducive learning environment for the pupils.

The don, however, said Plateau state government has plans to take delivery of 43,670 desks to primary schools within the next few weeks.

Earlier, President, Rotary club of Jos Central, Rotarian Sam Ede, while handing over the desks said the club has purchased 200 desks to be distributed to the primary schools in Plateau state.

Rotarian Ede said purchase of the desks was made possible through the contributions of club members.

Head Teacher of St. Theresa Boys Primary School, Victoria Jamang, in a speech, thanked the Rotary club of Jos Central for the good gesture. She assured that the desks will be used for the purpose meant.
