Former Aide de Camp (ADC) to immediate past Benue State Governor and Senator representing Benue North East, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, Mr Dickson Pawa has concluded plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reunite for the re-election of his boss in the 2023 Senatorial election.
Pawa and Suswam went separate ways, following some disagreements between them, and in pursuit of individual political ambitions.
While Sen. Suswam maintained interest for the Benue North East Senatorial Zone on the platform of the PDP, Pawa had to grope for a platform only to lose the Sankera House of Representatives seat in 2019 on Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform.
He defected again to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was delegate to the National Convention of the party held this year.
The Voice Politics investigation revealed that Pawa had to tow the comeback line due to pressure from his former boss Sen. Suswam. It is said Suswam wants his close allies back to reunite and help his re-election bid, particularly in Sankera geo-political axis where the opposition party in the state is making serious incursions.
Already, it is gathered that Mr Pawa and Sen. Suswam have agreed for a date and are awaiting official pronouncement.
Meanwhile, in a sharp twist and what appears to be political machinations, the Mbacher Ward Chapter of the APC Katsina-Ala, Local Government Area has suspended Mr Pawa over alleged anti-party activities.
The letter which was addressed to Mr Pawa, as signed by the party’s Chairman and Secretary Mbacher Council Ward, Mr Solomon Yongo and Mr Awua Shom, respectively read in part: “In breach of the provisions of Article 21 of the APC constitution and on behalf of the good people of Mbacher Ward where Hon. Orlu Pawa comes from, we write to ratify his suspension as a member of the party.”
A close ally to Mr Pawa has confirmed the developments as his phone numbers remained unreachable as at press time.
