Again, troops in Kaduna State have rescued three kidnapped persons in Ungwan Namama, along Zaria-Kano road in the state.

A statement issued on Thursday by the state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said the troops came in contact with migrating bandits in the area and engaged them, forcing them to abandon their three captives as they hastily escaped.

Aruwan said those rescued were: Abdullahi Lawal, Sadiya Salimanu and Fatima Salimanu (Sadiya’s 10-month-old child).

The commissioner said that the captives were kidnapped in a neighbouring state and have been reunited with their families.

“Also recovered from the bandits were nine rustled animals, comprising one cow and eight sheep.

“The recovered animals were handed over to local authorities for proper identification and retrieval,” Aruwan said.

The state government, therefore, thanked the troops for their valiant action in rescuing the kidnapped victims.
