Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Titus Uba has joined other well meaning Nigerians to celebrate with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on his selection as Deputy Chairman, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Zoning Committee.
A statement made available to newsmen by the Speaker”s Chief Press Secretary, Wuese Orshi, said, Uba described the appointment as perfect and well deserved, judging from Governor Ortom’s political antecedents and thoughtful contributions which have added value to the quality of policies and growth of PDP in Nigeria.
“Governor Ortom is a committed compatriot who has been very ardent in facilitating policies that will ensure the growth of PDP and guarantee its victory and dominance in the country,” the statement stated.
While extending the warmest felicitations of his family and the entire honourable members of the 9th Benue Assembly to the governor, the speaker expressed gratitude to the PDP family for finding Governor Ortom worthy of the appointment and prayed God to give him the wisdom and knowledge he needs to succeed in his new task.
The speaker further said it could be recalled that, since the defection of Governor Ortom from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP in 2019, the party in Benue and North Central Geo-political Zone in particular has continued to soar higher, and his selection signify a good omen that, the party would clinch North Central Zone as well as the country at large in the 2023 General Elections.
Other PDP loyalists from Benue State on the committee are former Senate President, David Mark and the Senator Representing Benue Zone A Senatorial District, Gabriel Suswam.
