Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Benue State in 2023 general elections, Titus Uba has expressed displeasure over renewed attacks on Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area by armed herders.
Uba, who is also the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly described the attack which led to loss of many lives and many others sustaining various injuries as barbaric and dispiriting.
A recent statement made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Wuese Orshi said his principal strongly condemned the gruesome killings and attacks on Benue communities by armed bandits and urged security operatives to take immediate steps to close all existing gaps in their operations being exploited by armed bandits to unleash mayhem.
He noted that such heinous crime is sad given the spirited efforts of the state government to secure the state while expressing hope that the two batches of Community Volunteer Guards launched by Governor Samuel Ortom would prove decisive in ridding the state of incidents of armed herders activities.
