Otse Etulo, Chief Douglas Agishi has said, Titus Uba is a dependable leader, who having served in two different House of Assemblies as Speaker is capable of perfectly governing Benue State.
Chief Agishi made this known Friday when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, in the state visited him at his royal palace.
“You have served in two different Assemblies as Speaker, for that, I know that you are well prepared and much qualified to be the governor of the State,” he stated.
Chief Agishi further said: “All that is needed to govern the state, God has granted you and you will get there by His grace.”
He also urged the would be governor of the state not to ignore the developmental needs of the Etulo kingdom when he finally occupies the state number one seat.
In his speech, the PDP gubernatorial candidate appreciated the royal father and his subjects for according him a heroic reception, while he noted he has found a father, friend and brotherhood in Otse Etulo.
He regretted his absence when the royal father and his entourage visited his Makurdi residence, saying the Otse’s visit coincided with the meeting of the National Assembly committee on constitutional review and 36 state governors and speakers.
“I reassure Etulo people of significant impact and inclusion in my government, if elected as Benue State Governor in 2023,” he maintained.
According to Uba, his visit coincided with the 2022 Opleka Festival, an annual crop festival of the Etulo people, while he lauded the Otse Etulo for promoting peace and unity through the yearly organisation of the Opleka Festival and promised to sustain support to communities towards harnessing cultural potentials if elected, noting that promotion of cultural values is a veritable means of achieving socio-economic growth and development.
He was accompanied to the event by over 15 members of the state Assembly, led by the Majority Leader, Damian Cheme, who is a title holder in Etulo land, PDP stakeholders from Jechira and other political leaders in the state.
Highlight of the event was the dressing of Uba in Etulo unique traditional attire which according to the royal father, signifies awaiting victory for the speaker’s governorship bid.
