People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flag bearer for 2023 general elections in Benue State, Titus Uba has urged the party’s House of Assembly candidates to create unity of purpose for overwhelming victory in next year’s elections.

Uba, who gave the charge Tuesday when he hosted PDP House of Assembly candidates at his residence in Makurdi, the Benue State capital said, with the victory, would be members of the state House of Assembly can be able to represent the people effectively, as well as provide democratic dividends.

He lauded the candidates for the visit, while he noted that, if he emerged as governor, his administration would collaborate with the House in the business of governance.

“My administration shall respect the principle of separation of powers with its accompanying principle of checks and balances,” he stated.

According to him, as an experienced lawmaker, he would provide a level playing field for the House to discharge its functions effectively and charged them to mobilize support for the party to sail to victory come 2023.

In their separate speeches, Barr Terseer Anongo, PDP candidate for Katsina Ala East, who spoke for Zone ‘A’, Engr Bernard Manger of Tarka for Zone ‘B’ and Barr John Abba of Otukpo/Akpa for Zone ‘ C’ said, given the pedigree and antecedents of Uba, as well as his track record of performance in the private and public sectors, they were confident that he would not disappoint Benue people if elected.

“As your foot soldiers, we shall not relent till victory is achieved,” they assured.

Earlier, the group had informed that they had come to assure the gubernatorial candidate of their readiness to work in solidarity with him as they head into electioneering campaigns.
