The state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Austin Agada, has appealed to the party members to put their differences aside and work in unity for the progress of the party.
Agada, spoke at Upu-Otukpo, Benue State, at the weekend on the occasion to mark the official admission of an Abuja based cleric, Bishop Monday Ajeibi into the APC along with thousands of different political parties’ faithful, who defected to the party.
He noted that only unity and reconciliation among the APC members will give the party the opportunity to win the 2023 general elections in Benue State and beyond, while commending Ajeibi and others for their wise decision to join the party.
The party boss, said Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia remains the APC governorship candidate in Benue State, urging people to disregard the false rumour about his candidacy, adding that the party is on a redemptive mission to reclaim Benue.
In their separate remarks, the Ewulo Ward Chairman of the APC, Inalegwu Onyilo and the Otukpo Local Government Chairman of the party, Moses Oko, expressed delight at the enlistment of Bishop Ajeibi along with others into the party, charging them to be steadfast.
In his response, Bishop Ajeibi said he was attracted to the APC by its laudable achievements over the years, coupled with the presence of Agada and Fr Alia in the party, stressing that he was coming to work for their success.
“I’ve decided to join the APC because of its laudable achievements in all facets of life and because of my friends Austin Agada and Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, who are now big stakeholders in the party.
“I’m set to work for their success and that of the party and I’m here to enlist into it at my ward Ewulo,” he stated.
Others who spoke, including the State Treasurer of the party, Mohammed Hassan, Alhaji Usman Abubakar, Kennedy Angbo and Erick Adokwu, commended the party members in Ewulo for having faith in the APC. They maintained that the entrance of Ajeibi and others has further strengthened the fortunes of the party in Ewulo Ward and beyond.
