Deputy speaker of the house of representatives Hon Idris Wase has called on the governor of Plateau state to complete the remodeling project of government secondary school Dengi.
Hon Wase made the appeal during the 2020 annual convention of government secondary school Dengi student’s old boys association DOSA held in Jos Saturday night.
Government secondary school Dengi is among the six government owned secondary schools remodeling projects ongoing in Plateau state.
According to the legislator, stoppage of the ongoing project has hamper smooth running of academic activities in the school.
It was learnt that Hon Idris Wase also completed his secondary school at Government secondary school Dengi.
Hon Wase used the occasion to donate a 30KVA generator and an undisclosed sum to the school to help boost power supply.
Earlier, national President, Dengi Old Students Association DOSA, an ambassador designate Professor Abdullahi Shehu Yipbaikwal had in a welcome remarks said development of the school should be a collective responsibility.
“We must appreciate that nation building is a collective responsibility and each and everyone here has a role to play “.
DOSA President thanked the Plateau state government for kick-starting remodeling of the school; but lamented that the project has stopped.
Abdullahi appealed for speedy completion of the projects which work has stopped on the site for about nine months now.
He however expressed appreciation to governor Simon Lalong for the remodeling of their alma mater.
The DOSA President said that no society can achieve its goals and aspirations without practicing justice and peace.
The event had large turnout of personalities, including the member, house of representatives for Pankshin, Kanke/Kanam federal constituency Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, and the deputy speaker of the Plateau state house of assembly, Hon Sale Yipmong, who are members of DOSA.
