Certainly, if proactive steps are taken in earnest. And that would be when National leaders will first of all, begin working towards finding a lasting solution to the Almajiri system in the North, which has continued to breed banditry, kidnappings and all kinds of criminal elements.
More so, if Nigeria really wants to coexist peacefully again, they must begin to invest in their people, start orientation campaigns about responsible parenting, family values, and come together as a nation, by reinvigorating the almajiri and nomadic educational programme started by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The insecurity in Nigeria, today is not by accident. It is the product of a deliberate societal decadence, systematically incubated over time and has become a way of life of a society.
The political leaders, the oligarchy and the proletariats had accepted the talakawa and almajiri poverty concepts as the will of God and today, unscrupulous politicians found them as valuable human resource for political thuggery to rig elections and terrorize oppositions. So we must go back to the drawing board for the nation to know peace again.
Mr Lix Mnguaorga Aboh (Politician/Businessman)
Yes. Nigeria will know peace again if the President of the day declares a state of emergency on security without further delay as it was one of the 12 point resolutions reached by the federal lawmakers, following the over three hour executive session held last month.
The insurgents (Boko Haram) have taken control of more territories and the current capacity of personnel of the military and the police are far short of the required number that would effectively secure the country.
More so, the constitution of the country should be amended, to vest more power on the governors who are the security heads in their respective states, because the government at the centre lacks the competence, to handle the security situation of the country. Government at all levels should focus on creating economic opportunities that would promote employment generation for the teeming youths who are chiefly instrumental to the lingering insecurity challenges in the country. If this is done, it will restore the lost security in the country.

I feel very sorry about the situation that we have found ourselves in Nigeria today, which has warranted such a pathetic question.
The worsening challenges that we are facing in Nigeria today, is due to the absence of peace in our homes, hamlets, communities, local Governments, States and even at the Federal level.
Nigeria is faced with various devastating political and socioeconomic conditions, bad governance which has generated high level of insecurity and crises.
Having said all of these, I want to say yes, Nigeria will know peace again but that is if only we as a Nation, cry unto God for divine intervention and then begin to treat all people with kindness regardless of their gender, tribe, religion and political affiliations.
Make personal commitments to preaching nonviolence knowing that good parenting is a weapon to achieving peace.
And also, device ways of sharing wealth equitably as well as empowering the youths, else there will be no peace in Nigeria.
Prince John Ogli (Gospel Minister)
There is no straight answer to this question. This is because on one hand, happenings in the country right now don’t really inspire hope in one’s heart. Everywhere you turn to people are experiencing one conflict or the other.
You may think Nigeria’s problem is religious until you take a closer look at the relationship between the Shites and the Sunni sects of Islam. Even within the Christian faith there are interdenominational issues.
In fact, there are issues even within denominations.
You cannot also say that Nigeria’s problem is tribal; it is much more complicated than that. So everything looks so bleak right now.
But on the other hand, we have to be optimistic. If we are truly hopeless then it means there’s no point to continue living.
Our hope however, has to be a realistic one. Nigeria will never know peace until we begin to do things the right way.
Jesus Christ said in John 8:32 that “you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free”. When we tell ourselves the truth and begin to act accordingly, we will then be on the right track.
Mr Eric Kuju (Journalist)
Nigeria will never know peace again except military will ceases power. This is because there are many conflicting interests in the country at present where none of the tribes is willing to work towards the unity of this nation. Every one of us is selfish and looks at the issues with one sentiment or the other. We have all contributed in one way or the other to stagnation of this country.
Selfish individuals are now sponsoring bandits and kidnapping to enrich themselves at the expense of national unity and societal development.
Fulani herdsmen and criminal gangs are seemingly uncontrollable and well meaning Nigerians are alleged to have had hand in all of this.
Even if the country is divided as some agitated, giving independence to Biafra, Middle Belt, Oduduwa Republics and the rest, there will be no peace because of corruption and self agrandizement. But if military takes over, there would be peace in the country because private individuals won’t be in power to influence the country negatively.
Officer Abraham Abagu(Livestock Guard)
In my own opinion, Nigerian will still know peace. The whole thing is caused by bad leadership from the top. If we get the right leaders, definitely Nigeria will come back to itself, there will be peace at every level.
I therefore, encourage those who vote in leaders to vote the right people. Keep sentiments apart and look at the credibility of each candidate.
Our leaders don’t prepare so when they eventually occupy leadership positions and are faced with tough situations like the security challenges that are rocking this nation, they find it difficult to make the right decisions. People aspiring for leadership positions, should groom themselves by paying particular attention to their ambition in order to avoid circumstantial leadership.
As leaders, the need for consultation cannot be over emphasized because when you consult, positive solutions are realised.
I also want Nigerians to understand that although the security challenges are the main issues, but as other situations come, they should be taken into consideration and tackled head on. We need God to intervene and bring things back to normal.
