Governor Samuel Ortom has encouraged the people of Benue to indulge in massive books writing to enlighten the public about the policies and programmes of government and other matters that, can unite and promote the society.

The Benue State Governor made this known Saturday during the public presentation and launching of a book titled: “Ortom The Triumph of A Prophetic Political Victory” written by Rev. Dr Mike Jerusalem Dzuamo and held at Dreams Event Centre, Makurdi.

Governor Ortom applauded the author of the book for his resilience, commitment and doggedness in putting together the book. He encouraged him to redouble efforts in writing more books that can transform the state and Nigeria in general.

The governor noted in particular, where the author mentioned in the book, the open grazing prohibition and ranches law which today is one of the most discussed issue in the country. He assured of his unrelenting efforts to sustain the enforcement of the law.

Earlier, the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Mr James Bulaum thanked all the people present at the occasion and appealed to them to launch the book cheerfully.

On his part, the Author, Rev. Dr Mike Jerusalem Dzuamo said he wrote the book as a way of honouring Governor Ortom on his unrelenting zeal in developing the state as well as the enactment and enforcement of the open grazing prohibition law.

At the event, the Mike Jerusalem Dzuamo Foundation presented the Exceptionalism Award to Governor Samuel Ortom as the Champion of the open grazing prohibition and ranches establishment law in Nigeria.

Others who benefited from the exceptionalism award are: Rev. Mashika Agu, Evang. Peter Zawua, Peter Shande, Teghtegh Tim, Jiji Jack, Bishop Mike Angou and Prof. David Iornem.
