Miss Wuese Tyona of Tarka State Constituency and Alfred Edeh of Ado State Constituency have emerged as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 2nd Benue State Youth Parliament.
Their emergence came shortly after the inauguration of the second session of the Benue State Youth Parliament at the Benue State House of Assembly Complex. Miss Tyona scored 23 votes to emerge as the first female Speaker of the Benue State Youth Parliament. Her only contender, Douglas Anagbe of Gwer West got seven votes.
The position of the Deputy Speaker went to Edeh of Ado State Constituency who garnered 23 votes to defeat Idenyi Agaba of Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency and Clement Arubi of Obi State Constituency who got 4 and 3 votes respectively.
The speaker elect expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to serve the Benue State Youth Parliament and pledged her commitment to the well being of members. She appealed to her colleagues to support her for the betterment of the youths.
