The Masev, Iharev and Nongov (MINDA) socio-cultural group has hailed the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom for his appointment of their son, Prof. Joseph Tor Iorapuu as Vice Chancellor, Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi.
The group made this known Monday, when they paid a courtesy call on Governor Ortom in Makurdi, in appreciation of Prof. Iorapuu’s recent appointment as VC.
In their separate speeches, Ter Gwer, Chief Dominic Akpe; Ter Tyoshin, Chief Daniel Abomtse; Ter Makurdi, Chief Vincent Ahula; and Ter Guma, Chief Dennis Shamberga, unanimously applauded Governor Ortom for finding their son capable to man the state university as Vice Chancellor and appealed to the Governor to provide more appointments to the people of the area.
Responding, Governor Ortom described the appointment of Prof. Iorapuu as very meritorious, due his competence and capability to handle the institution.
The however, called on his kinsmen to unite even as he called on them to support him and the new vice chancellor to succeed.
Also, in their separate comments, Chief Akange Audu, Dr Simon Aondona, Engr Samuel Utoo, Prof. David Ker, Dr Cletus Ityokyaa and Dr David Tsevende, lauded Governor Ortom for appointing Prof. Iorapuu as VC, BSU, Makurdi and they charged the appointee to be a good ambassador of his people, by working hard to up lift the university to greater heights.
