Federal roads in Benue state are death traps – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom has called on members of the National Assembly from Benue State to come together and mount pressure on the Federal Government to reconstruct all the Federal roads in Benue state.
The Governor stated this at the funeral oration of his special Adviser on Local Government and chieftaincy affairs, Jerome Torshimbe lamented that all the Federal roads in the state have turned to death traps and require urgent intervention.
Governor Ortom who spoke at the burial of his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said that for the purpose of justice ,equity and good conscience, he will reappoint the replacement of Late Jerome Tor-Shimbe from his clan Mbapa Ward from Gwer West with due consultation with stakeholders from the area
“The deceased was a great man who distinguished himself as a renowned Educationist , Public Administrator ,astute Politician, Philanthropist and eminent son of Benue State who dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity” Governor Ortom noted.
The Governor explained that, he knew the deceased in the early eighties as a man of integrity whose love for his people was, enough and sacrificial.
Governor Ortom further explained that, the deceased was a brother, friend, as well as a loyal and committed servant of his administration while he recalled his happy and challenge moments he shared with the deceased as Local Government Area ,Chairmen in 1991 to 1993 stressing that, it was recognition of the deceased sterling leadership qualities and dedication to service in various capacities that he found him worthy for the appointment as a Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He encouraged the deceased family to take solace in the will of God while he called on other to emulate the deceased.
In his orations, the Speaker Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Titus Uba called on all to take stock of their lives and prepare to meet God while he comfort the family of the deceased.
On his part, the Former Senate President, Dr Iyorchia Ayu said the deceased is his close associate, the man who together with the incumbent Governor ,Samuel Ortom supported his candidature as Senator Zone B, which later metaphases to his election as Senate President and prayed God to console his family.
In their separate funeral orations, Senators representing ,Benue Zone B and C Senatorial District, Barr Orker Jev and Comrade Abba Moro said the deceased was very dedicated ,hardworking and committed man while their prayed God to comfort his family and friends.
Speaking, Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty, Prof.James Ayatse represented by Tor Kwande, Chief Ambrose Iortyer said, he is saddened by the death of his son, Jerome Tor-Shimbe while he called on the people to emulate his commitment and doggedness to work.
In their separate funeral orations, Mark Igbila, Caleb Aba, Grace Igbabon, Elvis Attah, and Bem Dzoho expressed their sadness over the death of Tor-Shimbe whose during his life time was the man of the people ,astute politician and administrator.
