Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has presented the 2022 Appropriation Bill of One Hundred and Nine Billion, Eight Hundred and One Million, Five Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand, Eight Hundred and Seventy-Nine Naira, Forty-Nine Kobo (N109,801,524,879.49) only to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
Governor Sule, while presenting the proposed budget tagged, “Budget of Sustainable Transformation” on Thursday at the assembly complex said the recurrent expenditure estimate of the budget was Seventy Billion, Eight Hundred and Ninety-One Million, Five Hundred and Eighty-Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Fifty-Eight Naira, Fifty-Seven Kobo (N70,891,582,458.57) only representing 64.56 percent.
He said the capital expenditure projection was Thirty-Eight Billion, Nine Hundred and Nine Million, Nine Hundred and Forty-Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty Naira, Ninety-Two Kobo (N38,909,942,420.92) only, representing 35.44% of the budget.
“The budget framework shows the difference of Five Billion, Nine Hundred and Twenty-One Million, Two Hundred and Eighty-Nine Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty-Three Naira, Forty-Nine Kobo (N5,921,289,663.59) only representing 5.11% decrease against the 2021 appropriation.
“The idea behind the decrease is to operate on a realistic budget while sustaining our momentum of bringing transformation and economic development in the state. Details of these amounts are contained in the estimate’s document which I shall lay before you,” he said.
The governor therefore, assured that his administration would take close monitoring of the budget implementation to ensure discipline and adherence to best global practices.
He said his administration is determined to completing all ongoing projects to ensure the total transformation of the state for economic growth and development of the citizens.
Receiving the proposed budget, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Abdullahi assured of continuous synergy between the House and the Executive arm of government to ensure rapid development in the state.
He said the House would work on the budget with the needed speed and detailed consideration.
