Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Monday morning paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Guardian Newspapers Correspondent in the state, Mr Joseph Wantu.
He said the late Wantu was known for his constructive criticisms. “Wantu was a good man, very calm and added value to the development of the state. Once death occurs, there was nothing one can do. Life and death belongs to God.
“Wantu has just gone ahead of us. We will all join him one day,” he stated.
The governor called on the family to look up to God at this trying moments in their lives while praying that God gives them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Governor Ortom urged believers to be prepared, as no one knows when death will come.
Wantu died in Makurdi, the state capital earlier last week after a brief illness.
